Silent Auction of Mahakala Dance Masks
Many friends have asked to buy masks from the just-completed Mahakala Dance Tour through Europe and Rinpoche has kindly agreed that some masks are made available through an auction here. The proceeds are dedicated towards the three-year retreat center, Jangchub Choeling Monastery, and repairs of earthquake damage at KIBS, Kirtipur.
These masks have been used in Mahakala Dances for the past fifteen years and carry immense blessing from all these events. They come complete with costumes.
Just like the Mahakala Dance itself is a practice both for the lamas who are dancing and for the audience, this auction can be a practice of generosity and aspiration. Rinpoche and the lamas offer the masks with their wishes and aspirations and anyone who sends a bid has the chance to join in those aspirations and generosity. And if you like, you are of course invited to rejoice in both the practice of Rinpoche and the lamas as well as in the practice of generosity and aspiration of those who are bidding here, whether you yourself are joining the auction or not.
If you would like to make a bid for one of the masks, please kindly use the contact form and let us know your bid (and which mask you are bidding for and whether you are bidding for the mask, the costume, or the ensemble). We will update the current bid figure as frequently as we can and notify all bidders when new bids are coming in. This is not an automated process, so please kindly offer your patience as well as your bids as the process unfolds. (Make sure you enter your email address correctly, as that is the only way for us to contact you about your bid. Ideally repeat your email address in the main message body.)
You can bid for the masks and costumes separately if you like, however, preference will be given to bids for the complete ensembles.
When the auction is closed the winning bids will be notified and payment and shipping will be sorted out.
